Comtrust Demo certificate is your test drive for trying digital certificates free-of-charge. A demo certificate has a validity period of thirty (30) days. On expiry of this thirty (30) days period, the certificate expires. However, prior to the expiry of a demo certificate, the subscriber is intimated of the certificate expiry and is given a subscription option for a Class 1 User Certificate. Subscribers cannot use demo certificates for authenticating their identities over the Internet. These certificates provide the lowest level of assurance amongst all Comtrust certificates as they are intended only for demonstration purposes. These certificates are not intended for commercial use where proof of identity of the user is required.

Demo certificates are issued to individuals irrespective of their nationality and origin. A demo certificate can be obtained by simply filling an on-line application form.

A demo certificate allows a subscriber to send digitally signed e-mail and receive secure, encrypted messages. A demo certificate can also be used to establish continuity in the sequence of communications, i.e. to provide assurance that follow-up communications are from the intended recipients of the original email messages.
